Comet Celebrates 40 Years of Success

Comet Celebrates 40 Years of Success

On many fronts, 1977 was a ground-breaking year. The first Apple computer was sold; the MRI scanner was invented; and Steven Seltzer opened the doors to Comet Delivery.

Today, the company is one of South Florida's leading delivery, warehousing and logistics firms.

As Comet Delivery prepares to celebrate 40 years in business later this month, CEO Steven Seltzer took a minute to discuss the company's humble beginnings and ongoing success. "In 1977, we started off as a courier service with a single leased vehicle, operating from a second floor one-bedroom apartment," he recalled.

Forty years on, the company is headquartered at a 25,500-square-foot state-of-the-art facility with six dock doors and one ramp. "We have 80 drivers on the street in everything from cars, vans and trucks to flatbeds and tractor trailers. We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year," Seltzer said.

Seltzer attributes the company's long-term success to several factors: "First, we've been able to embrace change and provide the innovative services our customers demand. Second, we have made delivering excellent customer service a top priority. It's something we stake our reputation on — every day, with every transaction."
